Medical Records Assistance

Volunteers needed to assist with administrative duties (filing, pulling charts, transferring charts, etc.).        

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.*

Translation for Pastoral Counseling

Volunteers needed to assist the Pastor with Translation during counseling sessions (primarily English to Spanish).

Tuesday and Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.*

Wednesday and Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.*
 

Translation with Knowledge of Medical Terminology

Volunteers needed to assist with translating information to our neighbors

Destination Home/Case Management

We can accommodate individuals to:

  • Assist with set up of furnishings and move in.
  • Teach classes in basic budgeting, problem solving, life skills.
  • Household items collection (Off site).

Hours: Monday – Thursday: 9am – 5pm, nights and weekends as needed.

Become an AmeriCorps Member

AmeriCorps members serve 12 weeks during the summer passing out meals to children at 5-7 assigned sites and leading active enrichment activities with them. Members receive a week-long training, a living stipend, and education award upon completion. Opportunities to serve are available in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin.

Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to help in a variety of capacities: administrative functions, passing out flyers prior to the summer, passing out meals, and leading enrichment activities for children at sites. Remote projects such as washing picnic blankets or printing services are also needed. Projects can accommodate both single volunteers and larger groups.

In-Kind Donations

In order to provide a high-quality, enriching environment for children, the following supplies are needed: soccer balls, kick balls, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and other outdoor/active games. Donations of small prizes or school supplies are used as prizes throughout the summer. For AmeriCorps members, water bottles, coolers, and Gatorade are also needed. We are happy to provide any outreach material or assist in planning donation drives.

Legal Action Works (LAW)

We can accommodate individuals for:

  • Spanish Translation (On site)
  • Legal Research and drafting (On site)
  • Courthouse runs (Filing pleadings, retrieving documents.) (Off site)

Roseland Community Outreach (RCO)

We can accommodate individuals and small groups for:

  • Assist with Summer Program. Mon. – Fri.: 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • Roseland Community Center: Mon. – Fri. 4:30pm-8:00pm, Sat. 9am – 6pm

Transition Resource Action Center (TRAC)

We can accommodate individuals and small groups to:

  • Mentor a youth transitioning out of Foster Care 
  • Classroom assistants for Life-Skills classes.
  • Budget coach for TRAC young adult.
  • Be a Classroom Assistant for Life-skills classes.
  • Organize/help with special events such as our upcoming holiday party.
  • Organize/help with collection of winter coats or household items for TRAC youth.
  • Have a truck? Help TRAC youth move to new apartments (periodically).
  • Other special talents?  Let us know.

Hours: Flexible including days, nights and weekends.

WorkPaths

We can accommodate small groups and/or individuals (all must be over 18) for:

  • Resume building/coaching/mentoring (one on one)
  • Teach/assist with classes in writing, Math, soft skills
  • Teach/assist with computer classes
  • Conduct workshops on interviewing, employability, appearance
  • Teach Financial literacy classes, help with budgeting 
  • Admin/Secretarial assistance; file maintenance, data entry
  • “Back to Work” Packs for program graduates. (Off site)
  • “Bus Pass Drive” – Donation of bus passes. (Off site)
  • “Get to Work” – Donation gas cards for participants (Off site)
